To reduce the cost burden to the yacht owner of purchasing PLBs for a full race
crew, EPIRBhire is offering some alternatives. Crews move around, so why pay
$700 for a beacon that may or may not get used? Pay less than half of that, and
have a guaranteed supply for all races this season, with all registration done
for you.
CAT 2 STANDARD COST
EPIRBhire's standard rate to all race crew is $50 per PLB (for three or more per
boat) for category 2 races.
This does not include the Syd/Hobart ($165 for 2 or more) or Coff's Harbour
($88) Races which are a higher rate - sorry, the xmas rush stock is only used
once a year.
For the short overnight races (Cabbage Tree, Flinders, King Island etc) we will
reduce the price to $44 each unit if there are 3 or more from one boat.
FLAT RATE FOR MULTIPLE
CAT 2 RACES
EPIRBhire will offer a flat rate for yacht owners who intend to enter several
Cat 2 races in the forthcoming season. The maximum you will pay over the year
will be $300 per unit. This price includes the delivery, confirmation to the
club safety audit, registration with AMSA and GST.
In addition, Epirbhire will make the PLBs available for deliveries, cruises etc.
Furthermore, if you start the season needing 10 units and only need 4 by the
tail end you still only pay a maximum of $300 per unit over the 12 months.
WAYS TO MAKE IT EVEN CHEAPER
It's much easier and causes far less confusion if we talk to just one person and
have one transaction for each boat. So do the ring around and find out how many
EPIRBs are needed on your boat, give us a call and we will organise the rest and
give generous discounts. If you can organise your crew, we will organise
registration, delivery and send out one easy package containing all EPIRBs.
We also offer discounts for regular hirers.
SINGLE ORDERS
Casual one-off requests for PLBs this racing season will be $65 each. The Sydney
to Hobart will be $220.
We recommend and only supply GPS enabled 406Mhz
personal EPIRBs.
We sell and hire the 406Mhz GPS enabled PLBs. If you are thinking about buying a
